Minnesota Timberwolves Defeat Phoenix Suns in GAME ONE of NBA PLAYOFFS 120-95

Minnesota Timberwolves Force Game 7 against Phoenix Suns

Karl-Anthony Towns Avoids Foul Trouble and Leads Wolves to Victory

MINNEAPOLIS, April 20, 2024 (AP) - Anthony Edwards flashed seven fingers to the roaring crowd as he walked off for a fourth-quarter timeout during a must-win Game 6 of the NBA playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. The message was clear: the Minnesota Timberwolves were on the verge of forcing a Game 7.

And they did just that, dominating the Suns 120-95 to keep their season alive. Karl-Anthony Towns, who had been in foul trouble for much of the series, played a clean game and led the Wolves with 25 points and 16 rebounds.

Edwards added 22 points, while D'Angelo Russell had 19 and Jaden McDaniels contributed 17. The Timberwolves shot 51.4% from the field and held the Suns to just 37.5% shooting.

The Suns were led by Devin Booker's 23 points, but he was the only Phoenix player to score in double figures. The Suns were also hurt by 18 turnovers, which led to 22 points for the Timberwolves.

Game 7 of the series will be played in Phoenix on Sunday. The Suns will need to win to advance to the second round of the playoffs, while the Timberwolves will be looking to pull off the upset and continue their improbable run.
