David Moyes Hails Brilliant Achievement As Hammers Progress In Europe

West Ham reach Europa League quarter-finals with 5-0 win over Freiburg

David Moyes hails 'brilliant achievement' as Hammers progress in Europe

West Ham United will contest a continental quarter-final for the third successive season after thrashing SC Freiburg 5-0 at the London Stadium on Thursday night.

Mohammed Kudus scored twice in the closing stages to seal a comfortable victory for the Hammers, who will now face either Feyenoord or Sevilla in the last eight.

West Ham manager David Moyes was delighted with his team's performance, describing it as a "brilliant achievement".

"To reach a third successive major European quarter-final is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at the club," he said.

"We're now one step closer to achieving our goal of winning a European trophy, and we're determined to give it our best shot."

West Ham's victory was built on a solid defensive performance, with Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma in particularly impressive form.

The Hammers also showed their attacking prowess, with Jarrod Bowen, Michail Antonio and Said Benrahma all getting on the scoresheet.

Freiburg offered little threat throughout the game, and were ultimately outclassed by a West Ham side that is now one of the most feared in Europe.
